I'm planning to back up the system to the last partition on the hard drive, using a batch file together with PQDI. How does DOS check for hard disk partitions?

Because DOS itself cannot recognize formats like NTFS unless third-party software is loaded; so if there are no special requirements it should be workable; also, what you want to do by finding the last partition will determine the method.....
