DVBBS Ver5.0 Final
It's way too old, and has far too many bugs. The security problems are especially serious, and it's very easy to get hacked.
If possible, it's still better to bite the bullet and upgrade. 5.0 can very easily become the target
of DoS attacks, and of course it's also very slow. Forum posts can be modified by ordinary users, and forum
moderators can even delete posts across sections at will... sigh, it's hard to explain in a few words....

There is no such thing as 100% security!

If someone wants to hack our forum, it would really be too easy, because Dongwang 5.0 has a lot of vulnerabilities; even 6.0 has plenty too. I saw a lot of articles on the Hacker Union about obtaining superuser privileges for Dongwang and LeadBBS forums. As long as you have some basic security knowledge, it can be done. So it's very dangerous. Everyone should be careful. But I believe no such person would come hack our forum. Because our forum is the friendliest and most selfless. I believe everyone will take good care of our forum. Hacking our forum would bring nothing but harm to everyone, without the slightest benefit.

Yeah, making backups is the best method.
But 6.0 is an old version too; the latest patch was already out in July.

Actually, hacking a forum isn't for the sake of hacking the forum itself.... The key is everybody's important data, and then using that to hack users.
I'm not trying to sound alarmist. It's mainly because worms have been especially nasty lately, so I came here to give a reminder.
(This forum can record other people's IP, operating system; even if you've patched XP, if 2000 or XP doesn't have the RPC patch
applied, it can still be hacked directly... JUST one RPCCOM and you're OVER, isn't that depressing? )

Exactly... these past few days the original forum couldn't be accessed. Good thing the latest database had been backed up...
