My 486 laptop has no floppy drive or CD-ROM drive. Can I install FreeDOS?

I downloaded fdbootcd.iso from the official FreeDOS website,
unpacked it with WinRAR, transferred it to my laptop, and ran the installer
file install.exe. The installation process isn't very user-friendly. Before long it keeps asking me
y/n y/n, which leaves me totally confused. To be honest, it's no easier than
installing FreeBSD for the first time. My machine can't boot from a floppy drive, and I'm afraid of
messing up the system and being unable to fix it, so I hope to succeed in one go. Moderator, please point me in the right direction!!

FreeDOS can easily mess up a system -- honestly speaking
MSDOS 7.1 isn't much better either -- from personal experience

Honestly, just transfer the system files yourself. Several of the installers have problems...
It's also best not to use gdisk or free fdisk too much; their compatibility isn't good. I recommend using WinMe's Fdisk.
