Our company wants to set up a print server on XP, without hooking it through a computer. Can it be done with just one network cable, or what kind of cable should be used? We don’t want to tie up a whole computer just to connect the printer. Please give some suggestions—what methods are there?

Why not just use one computer? Not expensive! A 486DX80/16MB EDO is only 100 yuan, and a P-133 is only 300.
Somehow somewhere I've got to choose.
No matter if it is win or lose.

A network printer has its own network card interface. After connecting it to the HUB, just assign it an IP and it can be used.

If it doesn’t support networking~~~

you can only find a machine to drag along with it, right?

I think if you want to save money, it’s still better to buy an old computer and use it as the print server. Something like a P133 is enough. Compared with buying a network printer, it’s much cheaper. I absolutely agree with the brother in reply #2..
