My machine has USB 2.0 ports, and the external hard drive is USB 2.0 too.
Do I need to load a USB 2.0 driver in config.sys under DOS to get USB 2.0 speed? The speed under DOS is way too slow right now. I can't stand it.

Looking for a driver!!! Many thanks

Yes. . . as long as the USB driver supports EHCI.

The problem is that basically none of the current USB device drivers support EHCI

I think USB flash drives under DOS are basically all very slow right now... Very few can support 2.0 under DOS...

These drivers should support it, right:

DUSE 4.4-4.9: don't add the NOEHCI option!
USBASPI1.SYS: the /E option is optional
ASPIEHCI.SYS: specifically for driving EHCI!
