Ghost really does have major features, but recently I found a problem with Ghost: after it finishes (creating an image or restoring an image), the system can't boot. A floppy disk can boot it, but if it's the hard disk, it hangs right after CMOS. I'd like to ask the moderator what causes this unbootable system? Is there any solution? Should the boot files be backed up? How do I do that? Thank you!!!

Try a different version of Ghost.

1, I suggest you try a different version of Ghost. 2, Ghost operations must be done very carefully; the slightest carelessness can damage the disk partitions.

So far, I think Ghost 2001 has the best compatibility. I suggest trying Ghost 2001 first; if it still doesn't work, then switch to 7.5 or 2003.

There's another issue I want to mention: it's best not to defragment image files made with Ghost, otherwise it's easy to damage the overall structure of the image file, especially the boot record data!

Use PQMAGIC to check whether the boot partition is a primary partition and an active partition
