doslfn alone is enough. If you want to copy files, just use COPY (DOS 5 and above), and that's fine.
For copying hard disks, GHOST will do. NOTRON COMMAND solves all problems. (You need to pay attention to the version.)
Some of the older NOTRON tools will damage FAT32. Long filenames too.
To copy files with long filenames, you can use anything, it won't damage the filenames.
But if you use LHA or AIN to compress them, that will damage them. (The safest approach is to use software from after 1996.)
