Virtual PC is the best tool for testing DOS. 1. It can create a FAT12/16 virtual hard disk on a 40G hard drive. You can install WIN95 on it (not WIN97) without partitioning and formatting. You can split C into FAT12 to study antique software without paying the price of sacrificing and reinstalling your system. 2. You can use the files in an IMG without using HD-COPY to copy the IMG onto a floppy disk. 3. You can install WIN95/98/ME on the same PC.

This software is no good. Once installed it's very hard to remove. Even ending the process doesn't stop it, and after rebooting it's still there.

VMWare can do it too, and it's more powerful...

VMWare's compatibility is a bit better than VPC's... For example, I'm running MS-DOS 7.10 in VMWare, using a FAT32 partition.

Don't forget that vpc can be installed under Win98! But personally I think vmware is a bit stronger.
