Just now, on the basis of a version of MiniWin98 that I made in LK, I made some modifications (added and removed some files to improve compatibility, etc.), then made a plugin file, and have now successfully turned it into a MiniWin98 GUI plugin for the MS-DOS 7.10 installer. During MS-DOS 7.10 installation, this plugin can automatically prompt for installation, and during setup you can choose whether to start this GUI program under DOS—MiniWin98—every time MS-DOS 7.10 starts in the future. If you do not want to auto-start the Win98 GUI, just enter the win98 command at the MS-DOS 7.10 command line to enter it manually.

Note: This MiniWin98 is already very small in size, but it can still do a lot of things. Both DOS and WIN programs can run on it.

Note: The MS-DOS 7.10 installer required by this plugin can be downloaded from the sticky post above:

Unfortunately not... MS deliberately uses that so-called winbootdir variable to keep other DOS from entering the Win9x GUI... But if there's an expert around, this problem can definitely be solved.
