It's still about that West Digital USB flash drive problem of mine. Maybe I'm being a bit “greedy,” or maybe I just won't give up and can't accept it, but I want to know whether everyone else's USB flash drives are also as slow as mine under DOS. If so, then I can only resign myself to it.
I tried the DOS 7.10 super boot disk from the forum. I chose options 3 and 4, and neither worked.
In option 3, the Duse4.9 driver said it couldn't find the Device. (I had previously tried the Duse4.4 driver by itself, and it crashed.) After the Duse driver, when it got to the next USB drive driver it crashed (the USB drive driver after the USB CD-ROM driver).
So later I used option 4 to boot, and right at the start it said the nforce chipset was not supported because the manufacturer had not provided chipset information. Although it didn't crash afterward, all the drivers said they couldn't find the device. By now I've tried all the drivers on the forum, and not a single one has worked. I'm also contacting the maker of the hard drive enclosure, but before they reply (if they do), I'd like to ask the moderator and experts to help analyze this: is the USB driver failure caused by the motherboard using the nforce2 chipset? Or does anyone have any other tricks I can try? (My motherboard is the MSI MS-6570)
