I spent the whole night on it, and finally I can listen to mp3s in real mode, so happy. But at the same time there's another problem I just can't solve. I use qv /vcd to watch VCDs, but it makes the system reboot automatically and scared me. Also, as soon as I open a jpg file the machine hangs. What's going on? Please help.

Listening to mp3s under DOS is very simple, you just need good software. There is DOS recording software too, same thing, you just need good software. WinXP comes with a lot of good software built in, under DOS you have to collect it yourself.

WIN and Linux have more integrated software, DOS has relatively less integrated software, but you can find it all online.
