What are the boot files for winme and win2000 respectively? Why is it that after uninstalling 2000's boot files, even winme can no longer boot? Do they share some boot files? (Could you experts please give me some pointers)

Boot with a winme startup disk, then just do sys c:

It's not shared boot files, it's the DBR. You can go look through those hard disk repair books.

But the startup disk that can be made under winme is a win98 startup disk. How do you make a winme startup disk? Which files does it include?

So is the win98 startup disk actually the same as the winme startup disk?

At present there still do not exist true Win98 or WinME boot floppies, only Win98 and WinME boot CDs. . . Because Win98 and WinME are too large, it is fundamentally impossible to boot them from a single ordinary floppy disk (only Win3.x and Win95a can do it after being slimmed down), but on a CD it may succeed.

I have loaded win95 from a CD before, but it could only run in Safe Mode. The main unresolved problems were virtual memory and drivers.
