I saw articles online introducing the use of Ghost as a multicast server to clone network hard disks over a LAN, but the workstations have to have a floppy drive attached first. Generally, Internet cafés and machine rooms do not allow the use of private floppy disks, so I was thinking of using awflash to write the NIC boot program into the motherboard BIOS, then have the workstation boot diskless (which would require setting up a diskless DOS boot server), and then do the cloning from Ghost's multicast server. I don't know whether this will work. I hope some expert can give me some pointers!!!

From the storage side, the problem should not be too big. Some motherboards have BIOS chips as large as 4M, and generally 2M is also common.
But these problems have to be solved one by one:
1. Also write DOS, all the files, and the NIC driver into the BIOS
2. Be able to boot the DOS and NIC driver in the BIOS normally.
This is not something the China DOS Union can solve. It would require support from motherboard, BIOS, and other manufacturers.

That way, even the diskless DOS server would no longer be needed,

No need to write to the motherboard BIOS. As long as the NIC supports PXE boot, you can keep going...

Writing the NIC driver into the motherboard is still a pretty good method.

叫我Jorkin或小p就行,别再叫playboy2925了,跟提犯人似的。
如果认为小弟发的logo不错的话,给朵鲜花我就知道了。:)

Too bad it's very hard to do... just buy a PXE boot chip
Somehow somewhere I've got to choose.
No matter if it is win or lose.

Even if you buy a PXE boot chip, it still needs the corresponding contents, right? Some things seem like you'd have to modify yourself...
