I installed two systems, one is W ME, one is W 2000, and there had never been any problems. But suddenly W Me always shows a blue screen at startup, with the following text: Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer. System halted. Then it hangs, the keyboard is locked, and even a warm reboot gets no response.W 2000 can still boot in!! Don't know why!?? Please, experts, give me some advice! This humble one learned the following online: □Causes of Windows Protection ErrorWhy is it that when shutting down, this blue background with white text often appears: Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer. System halted. The causes of Windows Protection Error, nine times out of ten, are related to hardware. What factors can make Windows produce a Protection Error? 1.Memory instability or failure. 2.CPU overheating ﹙for example, insufficient fan cooling, poor ventilation..﹚. 3.Incorrect CPU frequency or voltage settings ﹙overclocking﹚. 4.The motherboard's Plug & Play function is not working properly. ﹙motherboard failure﹚ 5.There is a problem with the cache memory. 6.The hardware setting values in the BIOS do not match the actual hardware in the computer. 7.The motherboard is unstable or faulty. 8.The driver is incompatible with the operating system, or conflicts with it. ﹙such as display card drivers, network card drivers, etc.﹚. 9.registry damage. 10.A virus has infected win.com or command.com. Other than 9 and 10, all of these are hardware problems, and among them, the most common are CPU overheating and unstable memory. If you did a clean install and the problem keeps happening even without installing any software or drivers, and at the same time there is no overclocking, then maybe the only solution is to send it in for repair. |

Sorry!
Brothers! Got it fixed! I just used Optimization Master to restore the original system backup files! (Maybe it was because I used Optimization Master improperly to optimize it yesterday!) Brothers, learn from this lesson! Don't forget to make backups!!! |
