I used device=a:\xmsdsk.exe 3072, and it always reports a floating point error and hangs.
When I load it with wrapper.sys, it always tells me to Increase lastdrive, but my lastdrive is already set to Z, and the virtual drive letter I want is X. Loading it from the command line is no problem. Also, when using an XMSDSK RAM disk, can EMM386 be loaded? |

xmsdsk.exe seems not to work!
You'd better use Microsoft's own Ramdrive.sys instead! Actually, Ramdrive.sys can determine the drive letter! |

NO NO NO! Shen Jie is wrong, RAMDRIVE.SYS really cannot specify the drive letter!

When ramdrive.sys is loaded in config.sys, you can then get the RAM disk's drive letter, but unfortunately I don't know how to get it through a variable in config.sys.

The following is quoted from Wengier's post on 2003-7-29 20:22:42: Sorry, I remembered it wrong, thanks to Wengier for the correction! |
