I downloaded a Super Emergency Boot Disk v2003.07.12 from DOS Home and installed it onto a floppy disk.
After booting from the floppy into DOS,
I still can't format the C drive where XP is installed.

Because of some carelessness on my part,
I installed two copies of XP on C.
Now I want to wipe C
and reinstall one XP.
Could the experts please tell me how I can enter DOS and format the C drive?
The C drive is in NTFS format``

Thanks, thanks

Use fdisk to delete the C drive, then create C again.

Using the WIN2K or WINXP boot CD itself will also work. Remember, although the FORMAT command in WINXP and WIN2K is the same as in WIN9X, it can format NTFS partitions, while WIN9X cannot.

Use a bootable

installation CD, that also works --- format it with NTFS!

Boot with the installation CD, then first delete the C partition, and then use it to format C; you can use FAT or NTFS.

Use the XP installation CD to format C:
DOS doesn't recognize it
Best to use DISKMAN
