I've been learning computers for two years, and I had this thought in my head: I want to open the source code of a system or program and take a look at how it was programmed, just like on a webpage in IE where you can use View Source to open the page source. But when I try opening them in the usual Notepad way, some of them are garbled text or characters I can't understand. Could someone please advise me how to open the source code files of a system or program, or what third-party software can be used to open source code files, and where to download it? Please advise!!

ft Of course webpage source code can be viewed with Notepad, but executable files have to be decompiled first.
