China DOS Union

Right now I want to set up dual boot for WINME and DOS7.1 on my machine. Can I do it like this:
First install WINME, then boot with a DOS boot disk, replace the boot files on drive C with the DOS ones, then edit CONFIG and AOTUEXEC and make two menu options, one for DOS, and one just like before, directly using WIN in the batch file to enter WINDOWS.
I don't know whether replacing the boot files will make WINDOWS unable to start?

Under MS-DOS 7.1 you can use the WIN command to start WinME, but it's rather troublesome, and there are some problems (under MS-DOS 7.10, Win3.x/9x can start normally, but starting WinME is not quite normal). So it's probably better to set up dual boot. .

MS-DOS 7.1 can dual boot with WinME (for example, that's how my computer is set up right now). I remember I posted in the forum before to explain it. . You might as well look through the old posts. .

I'm relatively lazy myself, and don't want to make it too complicated! You can use two directories, for example: D:\WIN98 , and the other D:\WINME
COPY each set of corresponding boot files into its corresponding directory. When you want to use WINDOWS 98, just overwrite the boot files in C:\ with the boot files from D:\WIN98. Likewise, you can also use the boot files from WINME. Of course, you can first create two corresponding batch files. One thing to note is that you must first remove the hidden and read-only attributes from the boot files, otherwise you won't be able to COPY them. The boot files are: COMMAND.COM IO.SYS MSDOS.SYS As for AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS, that's up to your preference.
