The Heart of Autumn
It's again the season when autumn thoughts grow heavy, again a spell of bleak wind and bitter rain. I had thought I might see the bright, pure moon, but that is no longer possible. Several days of overcast rain in a row have left one completely disappointed, and so I long all the more to see that moon.
Whenever autumn comes, I always feel that everything around me has somehow gained a few more shades of melancholy, a few more touches of desolation. Before I know it, my mood has become the heart of autumn—something others cannot know, nor understand.
The heart of autumn is suited to being savored alone.
This season is so special that I am attached to it, love it, yet also fear it. I do not wish for it to arrive too early, nor do I want it to suddenly leave again.
At the very start of the four seasons, I am already imagining its charm, its golden color, its mature and steadfast beauty, letting my thoughts paint it more and more beautifully.
Autumn has come, with its cool wind and lingering rain. Only then do I know that this season also has wind and rain, and not only beautiful scenery. Through the wind and rain, I know that after they pass, the especially clear sky will make one cherish having it even more. Because of this hope, the lonely, solitary heart can remain so calm and serene.
