This is DOS 5.0 emulated under Windows 2000

PCE/ibmpc is an emulator of the IBM PC. It can emulate the hardware of most IBM PC 5159s, can boot DOS and run many DOS applications.

Simulation specifications:


CPU 8088, 8086, 80186, 80188. The specific CPU model can be set, and the default is

MEM The basic memory of the original IBM PC is 640KB (yes, it's KB, that is, 0.6MB, not as much as one millionth of your hard disk)

BIOS The pure original version of the IBM PC or IBM PC/XT BIOS. This is copied from the host

8237 DMAC Supported, but not particularly useful

8250 UART Supported

8253 PIT Only supports counting modes 0, 2 and 3

8255 PPI Supported

8259 PPC Supported

Sound Sound is not supported for the time being

Display Supported video cards are: MDA, CGA, Plantronics ColorPlus,

Its shortcut keys are ESC, F
Not ESC + F, press ESC first and then press F

Yeah, I tried it. The 8088 is really outdated. I tried and found that NU8 stops working and requires 286 or above. The simplified version of Tianhui 3.2 also requires 286 or above. The simplified network version of China Dragon 4.0 can be used, but I can't enter WPS and the input method can't be called successfully. In order to use WPS, I found the oldest SPDOS 4.04 + WPS 1.2 and finally got it to work. It would be best if we could simulate up to 386 or above, basically all DOS software can be used.

Tragedy, I entered GWBASIC and WORDSTAR and completely forgot how to exit, all forgotten.

For GWBASIC, enter SYSTEM. For Wordstar, I really forgot, it seems to be X?

Thanks ROY, but this thing is purely a toy and has no use because it can't save anything at all. And the 8086/8088 are indeed too old.

I haven't played with 8088 yet. When I started to get in touch, the lowest one was already 386 with 2M memory, and I haven't even touched 286.
