How does the IPC DOS system communicate with WINDOWS - China DOS Union Forum

The concept is very vague and I don't know where to start learning. Please teach me how to use RS232 communication. The IPC's system is a DOS system. This computer is mainly used to control the batching system of cement. It seems that the software is written with TC. I want to use WINDOWS to connect to the RS232 of this computer to control several weights in the IPC. Please teach me what to do first and what to do next. If the software has an RS232 communication program, is it a bit easier? I can do it if I know its data address?
