Seagate 40G hard drive can read files in each partition under DOS, but cannot write files, cannot delete, and cannot format. Among the read files, many system files are 0 bytes. The C drive is an NTFS partition, and D and E are both FAT32 partitions.

It is very likely that there is a problem with the hard drive itself

There is such a thing. I think either the hard drive is faulty, or you can check if there are problems with the connection cables and so on
