As the title says, I first formatted the USB flash drive with HP's USB flash drive formatting tool, and then used grubinst_gui to make a bootable USB flash drive in MRB format. According to the production instructions, grldr and menu.lst must be placed in the root directory. After testing, it can run normally. Is there a better way to make grldr and menu.lst not have to be placed in the root directory, such as placing them in "\boot\" under the root directory? It seems that it is necessary to modify the MRB boot to achieve it, but I don't know how to make it. I ask all the predecessors for advice.

The grldr must be placed in the root directory, and menu.lst can be placed in the boot directory.

Is there no way to modify the boot file so that the boot program directly executes grldr in the \boot\ directory?

The building host's requirements are too high. It's a blessing if the USB flash drive can boot successfully without freezing, and you still ask to find GRLDR in the subdirectory.
If it's not a USB flash drive but a hard disk, then there is a way, that is, use the MBR code of the 63rd sector to load the boot file in the subdirectory, such as GRLDR, etc. Currently, there are two such available software.
