Help with a hard disk. I have an old 20G hard disk, and I think it’s damaged. The disk can’t be detected in coms... Does anyone have any good ideas?!

If it can’t be detected in CMOS then the problem is probably serious. It could be a controller board problem, or it could be a problem with the drive mechanism itself~~~
It’s best to have the seller check it first~~~ |

This drive belongs to a friend. Since there was no way to repair it (it was bought out of town, so it couldn’t be exchanged), he gave it to me.
The first time, I used ghost to restore a backup from another disk onto this one (at the time it could be detected but the disk couldn’t be read). It could be read from and written to successfully. This time I don’t know why, but under DOS it won’t even detect the disk anymore...... I’m also just trying it with the attitude that it probably can’t be fixed. If it can be repaired, then I’ll have one more working hard disk...... hehe! |
