I want to use it as the clock for a logic gate circuit. It'd be best to use the "555" module, because the square wave from it is the best!

Who said that! 555 isn't the best, using TTL or CMOS digital circuits is the best way to generate square waves!

What does that hollow circle in the diagram mean? How come I can't find the corresponding tool? Also, why doesn't that inverter circuit have a power supply?

That hollow circle is an indicator light! The inverter I used is an ideal logic circuit, you can use 7404!
