Our laboratory has an acquisition program under DOS. It originally ran normally on an old notebook. But now this notebook is broken, so we replaced it with a desktop computer and installed the DOS system (the same DOS system as the notebook). However, after installing this acquisition program, all that is displayed is garbled code. The acquisition program is in English. I don't know what's going on. Can it be solved? I'm looking forward to an expert's answer.

Why is there no one here?

In addition, I installed DOS in the vm virtual machine to run the program and it shows no problem, but the serial port connection sometimes interrupts, so I still want to run this program under pure DOS.

At first I thought it was a graphics card problem, but after installing Win98 and opening the program, it still garbled when running.

Still no one to answer?
Or give some ideas, too. I really don't know how to start.

What are the system configuration requirements for your collection program? Are CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT the same?

The system configuration requirements in the manual are that it is a 386 or higher model, and DOS version 5.0 or higher. Both config.sys and autoexec.bat are automatically generated when DOS is installed, and there is no need to modify them again.
