Dear experts, I have been working on some DOS systems recently and encountered some problems. Please help me. Thank you. Our company recently introduced several production lines, each with four industrial control computers, all running DOS systems. Among the four machines, one is the host, and the others are slave machines. The slave machines have control cards to control the production of the production line. When the four computers start up, they need to connect to the network via a switch to exchange some data, and then the slave machines control the production. Now I find that some machines have integrated network cards and can connect to the network, while some machines have no network cards on the motherboard and have inserted a PCI network card. The newly purchased machine I have has an integrated network card, and the original DOS system program can recognize the network card and work normally. If I replace it with another network card, the system shows "can not reset the network" after startup and cannot be used. Please, experts, does inserting another network card need a driver? Do I need to install a driver program, or is it not necessary to install a driver, and just specify the network card with a command? Please don't be stingy with your advice. I thank you in advance, little brother.

Of course, you need to set up the network card driver. Fortunately, you are using a PCI interface network card. The MS client no longer needs to be made by yourself. Foreigners have already had a successful solution. A floppy disk can automatically detect and install different PCI network card drivers and can automatically obtain DHCP. The website is www.netbootdisk.com. To view the effect after production, you can directly download Hiren's BootCD, which has the Universal TCP/IP Netboot Disk software. Just run it and you'll understand.

Hehehhe, this doesn't sound like a tone of asking for help. Cultivate oneself, manage the family, and bring peace to the world!
