Kernel 2031 is said to have quite a few bug fixes, but I found that its compatibility is actually even lower than Kernel 2030's... For example, Kenel 2031 is incompatible with ECHO.SYS and MS-DOS's EMM386.EXE, while Kernel 2030 works fine...

I upgraded kernel.sys to 2031, and freecom is also the latest .082pl2. Haven't found any problems yet, because we only use the simplest DOS environment, and the program is watcom c+dos4gw, so there's no need for emm386 and the like.
But the latest beta9rc1 I downloaded still couldn't be installed successfully in vmware after several tries. First, that damn format problem still wasn't solved; later I used msdos to format it, but then found that copying files failed during installation. I still haven't found an idle machine to test it completely.
