In Windows XP, use winimg; in DOS, use UNDISK.

There are at least two formats for IMG image files. One is generated by HD-COPY under DOS, which can be unpacked into files with UNDISKP, or can be read by IMGDRIVE software to simulate a floppy disk for installation; the other is an image generated by WINIMAGE, etc., which is generally used to make bootable CD boot disks. This kind of IMG file can be modified with WINIMAGE.

Generally speaking, IMG images whose file sizes are not the standard floppy disk sizes such as 1.44M or 1.2M are mostly HD-COPY images. It seems that there are not many software on the Win platform that can directly decompress such images, and probably only HDCOPY can be used manually.
