Hello, moderator WENGITER:
Thank you very much for making the "self-made Super Universal MS-DOS 7.10 Boot Disk" 20030702 edition. I like it. But during use, I found that some things do not work properly on my computer. They are: 1. In Pocket Dragon, when I press the left and right SHIFT keys at the same time and then press Y, instead of exiting normally under Pocket Dragon XZL, the machine reboots. Also, in its full-width rotation mode, it will also exit XZL with an error back to DOS status. 2. It does not support extended partitions on hard drives such as F, G, H, I, J, K, etc., and only supports drives A, B, C, D, and E. I cannot browse F and the partitions after it. This is a fairly major shortcoming. 3. Software like QV1.EXE still requires registration, which is not very practical. I suggest using software that can be used directly after installation. 4. Since a 1.44MB floppy is no longer enough, there is no need to keep forcing it at the cost of hurting the contents. I suggest that you boldly use 1.68MB floppies. In fact, I often use 1.68MB floppies myself, and there is no problem with that. You only need to use WINIMAGE to reformat the 1.44MB floppy, and then still use WINIMAGE to write the disk. |

The following is quoted from luhou's post at 2003-7-19 19:24:47:Are the extended partitions on your F, G, H, I, J, K, etc. hard drives NTFS? |

With my boot floppy, I care a lot about universality... 1.68MB floppy images usually cannot be used as boot images on CDs, so they are not very suitable.
