Is it true that the DOS 6.22 boot partition cannot be located beyond 8.4G?

It can also be installed in another primary partition, but it must be located before 8.4GB, because ms-dos 6.22 can only support 1024 cylinders

I tried for several days. dos7.10 seems to work, but dos6.22 can only be installed in the first primary partition of the first hard disk.
I set the first primary partition to 7.2G and installed winxp on it, in ntfs format; I set the second primary partition to 0.5G and installed dos6.22 on it, in fat format.
Booted from the dos6.22 floppy drive, ran ｓｙｓ c: and set the second primary partition active.
But I still couldn't boot dos6.22 from the hard disk.

DOS6.22 indeed has to be installed in the first primary partition (it won't work if you hide the first primary partition and install it in the second primary partition).
