Today I was testing a hard drive. It was connected as a dual-hard-drive setup: the slave drive was connected to the IDE1 interface, and the master drive was connected to the IDE3 interface.
After finishing, I removed the extra drive, then moved the master drive from the IDE3 interface to the IDE1 interface. As a result, after the system screen appeared, it hung before entering the system. I tried several times and it was still the same. Then I connected the hard drive back from the IDE1 interface to the IDE3 interface, and it was fine, booted normally!
I don't know what the reason is,
Please, experts, point me in the right direction!

You're using XP or the 2000 series, right? That's because its boot loader remembers the position of the hard drive. You can try editing the Boot.ini file in the root directory of drive C (hidden attribute), though it may not necessarily work
