My hard disk really does have an NTFS partition, but it isn't NT, nor is it WIN2000 — it's an empty NTFS partition.
Why doesn't it say it found it? How do I read and write it?

I downloaded this read/write version of NTFSDOS from the China DOS Union's United DOS Forum FTP.

Then there shouldn't be any problem with the read-only version of NTFSDOS, right?

ntfsdos needs an NTFS partition from winNt to read and write files,
ntfsdos needs to call some winnt software.

The following is quoted from 沈洁 on 2003-7-17 10:11:24:

No way, it already read the installation files when generating it.
The pictures below are proof:

The read-only version of NTFSDOS doesn't seem very useful!
It only lets you look at it — how durable can that be?

Your NTFS partition may have been created by WINDOWS NT 4.0. NTFS Pro loads the WINDOWS 2000 driver, so under WINDOWS 2000 you can delete the partition, format it again, and then try again.

Maybe the file path is wrong
Try changing the path in the picture above to drive A:!

I booted with USB, and after booting the drive letter is C:

I'm using 4.03,
when I use its own NTFSCHK.EXE to check, it's normal — it finds one NTFS drive as G:, and it checked the disk and the installed XP.
But when running NTFSPRO.EXE an error message appears:
it says: found the installation point at drive G:, and indicates comspec is an invalid value.

I used SET to check it, and it looks normal.
I reset it too. set comspec C:\command.com
Still doesn't work.

I also used 一叶松's readntfs.exe, and it runs normally, but it can't read and write.

Experts, help me? Wengier???????

I've run into these situations too. My overall feeling is that they're bugs in the read/write version of NTFSDOS itself... And NTFSDOS has too many other shortcomings as well (like huge memory usage, being very unstable, not supporting Chinese long filenames, etc.), so could all of us write a better NTFS for DOS driver ourselves?

Wow, if boss WEGIER writes his own NTFSDOS, that would truly be a boundless merit.

Support! And it would be best if it could also be compatible with WINNT, WIN 2000, WINXP, and WIN 2003 at the same time.

Just use 一叶松's readntfs.exe,
it's just that it can't write.
