Today I found a strange thing about grub4dos. After installing the boot code on the MBR of the USB flash drive, when booting from the USB flash drive, it loads the menu.lst of the local hard drive, and then can boot into Win7, but cannot boot into XP. After detecting the file system, it gets stuck and there are no error messages. It's really strange.

For USB drives set to HDD mode, the following modifications can be made to enable booting:

title Boot Windows NT/2000/XP/2003
find --set-root /ntldr
map () (hd0)
map (hd0) ()
map --rehook
find --set-root /ntldr
chainloader /ntldr

This menu is for Grub4dos 0.4.5

Thanks, can you explain the meanings of the two sentences `map () (hd0)` and `map (hd0) ()`?

You can make a bootable disk with a USB flash drive in USB-Zip mode.

It is less likely to go wrong. Making it in HDD mode may conflict with the existing C drive on the local machine.
