How can I load memory management software like HIMEM after DOS has started?
In The Open Secrets of DOS there is a devlod, but it gives me an error saying Unknown version dos |

Usually you can just load it in CONFIG.SYS with commands like DEVICE.

devload only works under DOS 6.22 or earlier.

devload can be used under MS-DOS 7.x, I use it myself. But maybe you're talking about another DEVLOAD program.

Using xmsmmgr.exe from the Win98 installation disc can achieve the same effect
