Preparation work:
1. Prepare a USB flash drive that can boot the computer, download the PE three-in-one software. The download address is: http://www.ankty.com/soft/1/12/4824.html. Make a bootable disk according to the prompts. (If the computer cannot boot from the USB flash drive, you can also make a CD bootable disk.)
2. Backup the hard drive. Make a backup of important data (because we need to repartition the hard drive. It is best to back up the data to a mobile hard drive or USB flash drive.)
3. Download the ghost installation package, extract the WINXPSP3.gho file after decompression, and set aside.
4. Download the hidden partition PE system (F9PE3.gho) made by the author. The download address is: http://u.115.com/file/f14c3a817f, extraction code: f14c3a817f, or http://www.800disk.com/xiazai/down_339021.aspx, set aside.
Production method:
Boot the computer with a USB flash drive (or CD), enter the PE system, and use the hard drive management software to repartition the hard drive:
Divide the hard drive into four primary partitions (a hard drive can have at most four primary partitions). Remember: there must be four primary partitions. The size of each partition is set according to your needs. Generally speaking, the first partition, that is, the C drive, 20G is enough. The size of the D and E drives will not be discussed here. The key is to talk about the fourth partition: The fourth partition is the partition we want to hide. If your hard drive is large enough, you can allocate a larger one. (My hard drive is 320G, the fourth partition is 60G, and I compressed and stored the main files of the D and E drives into the fourth partition respectively.) Generally speaking, within 10G is enough.
After partitioning, restart the computer with the USB flash drive (or CD) to enter PE, run ghost, and directly ghost the downloaded F9PE3.gho to the first and fourth partitions of the hard drive (both partitions must be written). After completion, open Hard Disk Doctor (start program of PE system), set the first partition as "active" partition, set the second and third partitions as "visible", save the settings, exit and restart, and select the third line to enter DOS:
Windows PE
COMMANDLINE
BACK TO DOS
Windows XP
REBOOT
Then run the SETBMGR.BAT command, and it's done. When restarting the computer, just press the F9 key, it will boot the hidden partition PE system. If you don't press the F9 key, it will automatically enter the Windows operating system of the C drive.
Boot PE, copy the downloaded WINXPSP3.gho to the hidden partition. Now you can start installing the system: double-click the "One-click Restore/Backup" icon on the desktop, and then you know what to do.
It is best to make another ghost backup after the first system installation is completed (remember: the backed-up ghost file must be stored in the hidden disk. You can even make ghost backups of the D and E drives. When the system has problems, restart and press F9 to enter PE, and then restore each disk one by one)
