Use qv, quite a lot of newer dvdrip files can be watched. I even watched "Kala Is a Dog" under DOS yesterday!
I guess divx works, xvid doesn't. |

Because of licensing issues, QuickView also won't provide DVD playback in the future; both DIVX and XVID require converting the files, and on my lousy CPU (PII) that takes a ton of time and effort >_<
Could it be that right now there really is no way in this world to play DVDs under DOS? |

It's just that there's no way to solve the subtitle problem. Oh well, I'll just treat it as listening practice.
