I haven't been here for a long time. Recently, I found a very good hard disk partitioning software -- fdisk in freedos. It's simply great. It's不知多少倍 more powerful than the fdisk of win98!
My HP NC4010 notebook, because of the hard disk bad sectors, had to buy a Samsung 160G IDE hard disk. After buying it, I found that the notebook doesn't support large hard disks. I tried all the partitioning software I have on hand, such as DM, SPFDISK, sfdisk, pq, etc., none of them worked. Some couldn't correctly identify the hard disk, some recognized the partitions but couldn't boot from the hard disk. Just when I was about to go crazy, I remembered fdisk in freedos. So I used set size in dm9.55 to successfully set the hard disk capacity to 137G, then used fdisk in FD to partition. It was super fast. It took less than a minute to partition the 137G hard disk. Activate the C drive, restart, format the C drive and use sys to transfer the system files, then set the hard disk to boot. Haha, the familiar command line prompt came back! Finally, install xp into the system, and the hard disk mode finally became DMA (previously, I let the "expert" in the electronics city install it, and found that the system ran extremely slowly. Later, I found that the hard disk transmission mode was actually pio). I don't dare to keep good things to myself. I post it here for everyone to see! Attachments FDISK.rar (35.1 KiB) |

Boss, do you have Chinese instructions for FreeDOS? I want to learn FreeDOS, but it's depressing to have no tutorial.

In fact, none of these partitioning tools is harder than the partitioning tool used when manually installing XP. No matter how large it is, whether it supports it or not, 64-bit ones can recognize and partition, and the same applies to very small ones. I've tried a 1T one. Actually, in many cases, if you can't partition or can't recognize the hard drive, you don't need to look for any tool; just use the partition of the install version of XP directly.

It is exactly the same as the fdisk usage in msdos. You can first try it with a virtual machine
