Every time I need to start grub4dos, I have to go through the XP boot menu first. Then going into Windows from there is redundant, but I don't want to touch the MBR of the hard drive.
I thought maybe I could first use SPFDISK to carve out a small FAT partition, put all the grub4dos files into it, and then use SPFDISK to set that partition to boot from? |

It is completely okay, and that small partition doesn't have to be FAT. NTFS is completely okay. You can use this tool here http://bbs.wuyou.com/viewthread.php?tid=57675&extra=page%3D1
