As the title says
After putting fdisk.exe in MAX dos, executing the fdisk /mbr command is effective. Upload a fdisk.exe....(ps: I also forgot where this fdisk.exe came from, but it can be used in maxdos) And when executing in several other versions of dos, an error prompt is: No fixed disks present. The IMG of dos98 only has command+io.sys+msdos.sys Test environment: vm virtual machine + grub4dos Conclusion: It turned out that the bcdw in EZboot led to the error of guiding the img. Using grub to guide the img is normal. [ Last edited by 48344620 on 2009-12-10 at 14:13 ] Attachments fdisk.rar (31.01 KiB) |

Hehe, the problem described was not found with the fdisk used in win98 or winme. Please the landlord identify the true identity of the fdisk used first!

Heheh, the appearance of this fdisk and the one for 98se looks exactly the same, and the interface after running is completely identical. Only after checking the md5 code do we know that the two are not the same thing.

Still the same as before..
No fixed disks present. Why does fdisk in super ms-dos7.1b and other DOS versions not have the parameters /mbr? Looking for an img file that can execute fdisk /mbr with as few as possible. . . [ Last edited by 48344620 on 2009-12-9 at 14:30 ] |

Heheh, the /mbr parameter of Microsoft's fdisk is an undocumented parameter. You can't see this parameter from fdisk /?.
But you can try entering fdisk /mbr 2, and you will see a prompt that the command syntax is incorrect and instructions on how to use the correct syntax. Okay, do I still need to give you the img of the minimum files? According to your requirement, the so-called minimum number of files seems to be only 4 files. |

Thanks to brother bc12060101 for the patient answer. After multiple tests, it kept getting errors.
Suddenly thought that the original boot method was grub4dos. This time, for testing convenience, I used bcdw2.01a in ezboot to boot. Switching back to grub works normally... |
