Friends who know file systems well:

Hello! This morning I turned on the computer as usual, but after the system self-test finished, just when the Windows splash screen was about to appear, the system suddenly stopped. A line of information appeared at the bottom of the screen, seeming to say that there was a problem with the drive. I didn't pay attention to it at the time, so after waiting for nearly 10 seconds, the system automatically started scanning the disk, and it also launched the disk checking program to begin checking the disk. I was really puzzled—what was going on, what happened?

Then I heard my hard disk reading and writing noisily, and just then the hard disk suddenly started making clicking sounds while reading. After a while it got better again and continued checking the disk. Since I couldn't wait any longer, I quit in the middle of it, and then Windows 98 started up. Later I used “ScanDisk” to check drive C: again, and it reported that bad sectors were found, saying the total bad sectors amounted to 4,096 bytes. My hard disk is 30GB. What should I do?

If it's not in the boot track,
use SPFDISK to hide the bad sectors

But right now it doesn't affect my use of the computer at all. It's just that whenever I check the disk it reports bad sectors. Does that mean the problem isn't too serious yet? Will it spread?

It will spread. I had a hard disk before that also developed some bad sectors on a small scale, and I just ignored it. After a long time, there were more and more bad sectors.....
If they're physical bad sectors, then just replace the hard disk....
If they're logical bad sectors, I suggest first using GHOST 6.0 to back up the system, then use NDD to repair it, format it once, and reinstall the system

Hopefully they aren't physical bad sectors. Try checking with NDD. Wishing you 啦 KE.

Is it a Fireball hard disk? If so, I suggest backing up your data, then getting ready to replace the hard disk. The TDA5274 IC on that hard disk is probably about to die.

Announcing good news: the bad sectors on my hard disk have been completely repaired!
Repair method: first make a backup with Ghost, then use NDD to scan and repair the disk, immediately format the disk afterward, and finally restore the backup. This way, a perfectly good hard disk appears before your eyes!

Don't be too happy. Generally, once a hard disk develops bad sectors, that means its lifespan is about up.
I suggest backing up the hard disk and getting mentally prepared to hold a memorial service for it at any time.
My condolences..........

But my hard disk has been used for less than two years, and besides, aren't these only logical bad sectors?

I think maybe just doing a FORMAT would be enough. My machine had this kind of problem before too, and the hard disk is still working very well now. WINDOWS sometimes talks nonsense!!!!!!
