1. I have a PS/2 optical mouse. After reading an article (http://pub.pconline.com.cn/pchardware/diy/szdd/mouse/10305/173212.html), I wanted to convert it into a USB mouse, so I bought a PS/2-to-USB adapter and a USB-to-PS/2 adapter (10 yuan). (1) After connecting it with the PS/2-to-USB adapter, the mouse lights up, which means it has power, but unfortunately it still can't move.
(2) I think the USB-to-PS/2 adapter is very useful. For example, under DOS a USB mouse can't be used, but you can use it to convert it to PS/2, and then use ctmouse to drive it. I have already succeeded!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Later I tried a PS/2 keyboard with the PS/2-to-USB adapter, and the system recognized the USB device, but unfortunately it also couldn't be used!

3. I want to convert my parallel-port gamepad into USB. I saw a kind of adapter cable that costs 150 yuan and needs a driver to work (http://www.wantong3w.com/GB/GB_Product/GB_UE-PA15CC_01.html). Its principle is to convert parallel port (IEEE-1284) devices to the USB interface. The driver supports windows98 and windows2000, and under a USB environment it can virtualize a parallel port through the conversion path (usually LPT2). Since it is very expensive, I don't want to buy it. I want to know how Windows recognizes this adapter cable. Without connecting this cable, can I manually add this driver myself!!!!!!!!!!!How do I add it!!! Because a gamepad can also be added even when it is not connected!!!!!!
Driver download:
http://www2.zzu.edu.cn/ie/newdos/uploadImages/20037126283853512.rar
This is its installation instructions:
1. Turn on the computer that will be connected to USB TO PARALLEL, and make sure the USB port to be connected has already been enabled and is working normally.
2. Insert USB TO PARALLEL into the USB port. Windows will detect an IEEE-1284 device and run the Add New Hardware Wizard to help you set up the new device. Click Next to continue.
3. Insert the USB TO PARALLEL driver disk and click Next to continue. Select Search for the latest driver for your hardware, then click Next. Select Install from disk, then click OK.
4. Windows will detect the installation information (Parupl.inf or parppl.inf) and display
the IEEE-1284 Controller device. Click Next to continue the installation.
5. Click Next to continue, and let Windows copy the necessary files to your hard disk.
6. When Windows shows that it has installed the software required for the new device USB-Parallel Bridge, click Finish.

Moderator, come help me solve this quickly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It might be an interrupt conflict. Set it manually in the BIOS. It seems IRQ 6 should be fine,,,,,,,,,, of course it could also be a driver problem,,, besides, I also have two gamepads connected to the printer port with adapters, and they've always been fine,, it's best to connect the driver,, also use Add New Hardware to solve it,,, Windows auto-detection isn't perfect
