Brief Description of Tianhui 3.1 Pocket Version:

There are three versions of Tianhui 3.1 Pocket Version: 96-12-25, 96-12-31, and 96-12-31 (Final Edition). The 96-12-31 (Final Edition) is the last version.

Main Improvements:
------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Added dynamic Chinese localization function for DOS 7.0 in Windows 95.
2. Focused on improving compatibility with various versions of Windows. There is no annoying screen corruption when switching between Windows and DOS and when switching between multiple Chinese DOS systems. The screen corruption was very obvious in previous versions and other Chinese character systems on Windows 95. This technology is implemented by installing 32-bit drivers in Windows, and no additional files are added, still maintaining the unique feature of the original pocket version single-file Chinese character system. In the pocket version (96-12-31), the screen freezing when switching screens when DOS runs applications with DOS4GW in TWAY V3.1 and PDOS 95 is solved.
3. The style and color of the prompt line can be freely selected. It is only necessary to modify the values of the corresponding entries in the TWAY.INI initialization file. When the background color is black, it can switch between black and the standard three-dimensional prompt line.
4. Memory usage is reduced.
5. When used in Windows, even if there is no EMM386.EXE (or QEMM.SYS) in Config.sys, direct screen writing and automatic use of B000 segment can be realized (Windows drivers need to be installed).
6. The VMODE display mode setting function and the SPVER Kingsoft SPDOS input method interface simulation version number setting function are added in the pocket version. Specifically, the usage methods can be viewed through the following commands:

TW /V /? to view the usage method of the display mode setting function;
TW /SP /? to view the usage method of the Kingsoft SPDOS input method interface simulation version number setting function.

In order to solve the troubles caused by the lack of practical utility programs such as VMODE.EXE and SPVER.EXE.
7. When the system starts, the value after "TEXTMODE = " in TWAY.INI can be modified to use other EGA/VGA graphics modes to simulate the startup text mode.
8. The intelligent whole character recognition method in the original 3.0 version is canceled in the pocket version, replaced by the ordinary whole character recognition method. But the accuracy of whole character recognition is improved.
9. In view of the fact that the DOS national standard interface is still of no practical significance, this support is canceled in the V3.1 pocket version to reduce memory usage.

In addition, the detection of the system environment is improved, and the recognition of Western tab characters is also improved. There are many other small details, which will not be listed one by one.

Today, I found another input method of Tianhui Chinese Character System again. After loading, pinyin, double pinyin, Wubi and other methods only occupy 19K memory, which is much smaller than the memory occupied by the original PY.COM and WBX.COM. PY.COM occupies 63K, while WBX.COM needs about 45K. And with the current input method, the entire Tianhui Chinese Character System only uses more than 50K memory in total.

The number of similar commands of FREEDOS is generally only 1/2 or even less of that of MSDOS.

Oh! The FREEDOS ones are much larger than MSDOS's. SUBST.EXE is 53K, JOIN.EXE is 53K, ASSIGN is 14K, while MSDOS's SUBST is (18K) and ASSIGN is (5K). Are there any smaller ones? (Sorry, I want to add them to the boot disk, so I hope they are as small as possible.)…… ^_^
