I've been wanting to find a tool similar to findcd that can identify the USB flash drive drive letter and the mobile hard drive drive letter with USB interface from many drive letters under pure DOS (without making file marks in the USB flash drive or mobile hard drive in advance). Can batch processing or tools under pure DOS achieve such a function? Also, I want to know what aspects of knowledge are needed to develop a similar tool like findcd? If the BIOS does not provide this function or there is no universally accepted standard in the industry, it may be very difficult to achieve.

So is there any way to distinguish between a normal hard drive and a USB mobile hard drive drive letter? Thanks.

If BIOS supports USB boot, then in DOS, there is no difference between a USB hard drive and a local hard drive

The LZ can mark the volume label of the mobile hard disk. Otherwise, it will be recognized as the local disk in DOS (pure DOS) as well.
