My computer is an hp dx2060mt. Under pure DOS, when I manually enter xmsdsk it shows memory allocation error cannot load command, system halted. Running it under XP just makes it hang there. Can some expert explain what's going on?

Did you load himem.sys?

I mistakenly wrote himem.sys as himem.bat; now it works. Thanks!
