IBM OS/2 Warp 3.0 English Original CD
http://ptm2.cc.utu.fi/ftp/OS2/warp30/os2warp30.iso
This version is the English version of IBM OS/2 Warp Connect v3.
First, create a new OS/2 virtual machine, and configure the memory of the virtual machine to 64MB by default.
(If you are installing the OS/2 WARP 3 Chinese version, you must enter the BIOS of the virtual machine and adjust the floppy disk capacity to 2.88MB. But for the English version, you don't need to adjust it.)
1. Load the original image OS2 Warp 3 CD.iso into the virtual CD drive.
2. We need to use K:\DISKIMGS\OS2\35 (assuming the drive letter of the virtual CD drive after loading is K) in the OS/2 system installation: DISK0.DSK, DISK1_CD.DSK (if you want to install by switching floppy disks one by one, use DISK1.DSK), DISK2.DSK.
3. Start the virtual machine, and load DISK0.DSK, DISK1_CD.DSK, DISK2.DSK into the floppy drive in sequence for partitioning! When entering the partitioning interface, select Advanced Installation, then in the next interface, select Specify your own installation partition, press Enter to enter, then press Enter again, select Create partition, the default partition size is 2043mb, set it as Primary Partition, then press Enter, select set installable, enter the partition name, just enter OS2! Then press F3 to save and exit.
4. After partitioning, the system will prompt to insert DISK0.DSK to restart. Follow the system prompt, and insert DISK1_CD.DSK and DISK2.DSK into the floppy drive in sequence. The system will then prompt to insert the CD. After loading the CD image, when the Welcome interface appears, we select Easy Installation to install. The following operations are automatic installation by the system! There are few manual interventions! When the system configuration appears, select VGA (Video Graphics Array) as the default for Primary Display, select other for CD-ROM (you can only select this, if you select other optical drives, there will be errors during installation), select Sound Blaster 16 for Multimedia Device Support, do not select any printer drivers, select the network card driver, load the Intel 21041_21140-Driver.ima floppy disk image to install the driver, select the OS/2 Warp Version 3 or OS/2 Warp Connect configuration to install, so that it can be installed without errors, but there is no "optical drive" support after installation.
5. The OS/2 graphics card driver module of the VPC virtual machine cannot be used under versions lower than OS/2 Warp 4 for pack 15. Since this version is only the Warp V3 version, the graphics card driver provided by the VPC software cannot be loaded, and only the S3 Trio32 driver in the driver ISO package can be used. Use the P3.0 or T3.0 version of the system, mount the E3.0 disk image, copy the driver file to the E3.0 disk image, and then start E3.0 to install the corresponding S3 Trio32 graphics card driver (it is only applicable to the English version system). Select Install Using Default for Monitor Type. After restarting, enter OS/2 System, enter System Setup, enter System, select 1024*768*65536 from Screen resolution and restart!
6. After copying the S3 Trio32 driver into the E3.0 system image in step 5, copy the entire OS2 WARP 3.0 CD file to a newly created folder in the E3.0 system image. Because for some reason, the system is not actually installed. After copying, restart into the system, double-click System Setup, double-click Selective Install, in the appearing installation interface, select any optical drive. Since the original installation was to select Other (the original installation must select this, otherwise it cannot be installed successfully) without optical drive support, click NEXT, it will prompt the path of the system file image, we select Change, correct it to the folder we copied in advance on drive C, then click NEXT until the installation is complete, and then restart completely to finish the installation!
