There are more and more C language compilers under DOS now. The old ones include BC, TC, and so on. New ones keep appearing too, and they’re getting more and more practical.. Let me introduce a few below:
DJGPP: already introduced many times, so I won’t say more.. Website: http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/ VIM for DOS: also a very new thing. For download please see: http://www.vim.org/download.php#pc Digital Mars for DOS: a good thing for developing DOS software. Website: http://www.digitalmars.com/ Everyone might as well continue and add some other latest C compilers under DOS, so this list can be made more complete.. |

There’s a tcc under unix, not sure whether there is one under DOS? See the following link:

Hehe, your address wouldn’t open. I changed cn to www and then it worked.
Go take a look in the turboc directory, there’s a tcc.exe there. I thought that was what you meant ![]() What does the poster above want this for anyway?? There probably isn’t this under DOS, right? |

With this tcc, you can skip the compile and link steps. After writing the source program, you can run it directly, and when saving, you only need to save the source program.
Debugging is really annoying: first switch to the editor, change one place, save and exit, then still have to compile before you can run it and see the result. If it’s wrong, you also have to delete the compiled file, then repeat, repeat, and repeat again. If there were this tcc, it would at least be a bit better. |
