I installed Ghost XP SP3 and then installed MaxDOS 5.8 to create a dual system. Then when I was trying to install UCDOS 7.0 in pure DOS, I got a prompt saying "command.com not found". The details are as follows:

My command was running install.exe under c:\ucdos7.0, and the prompt was:
command.com not found, please set the comspec
Example: set comspec =c:\command.com,
if c:\command.com does not exist, please copy command.com to c:\

According to the prompt, I downloaded a command.com file and placed it in the root directory of the c: drive, but it didn't work, and the previous prompt still appeared.

I'm waiting to use it, and urgently ask the experts to help. Thank you!

Haven't used maxdos5.8, but按理说 after booting any DOS, there should be the COMMAND.COM file and the COMSPEC environment variable. You can take a look.

Install MSDOS, and the command.com file will appear.
