Although there is a WINDOWS version, it gives an error when run under XP

I don't know if there is anything similar. It would be best if the saved image format is also IMG

There are also HD-COPY 2.3 and 3.0, and UNDISK works too

Winimage is indeed pretty good

But it can't read copy-protected disks

winimage has no verification function, it's far inferior to HD, not even in the same league.
