Help with a question:
I'd like to ask everyone something: under WIN98, can several of these system files be absent?????
What are their functions?????
autoexec.bat,config.sys,command.com,io.sys!!!

Second question:::
'Set the prompt so there is a directory prompt in front

What does this mean???? What does it do,, could you give an example and explain it?????
Many thanks, let's all develop together..... promote China...

autoexec.bat and config.sys, these two are configuration files. The system can still boot without them. Use MEM to check memory, and you can see the difference between using them and not using them.
command.com, io.sys, and MSDOS.SYS are required boot files.

“Second question:::
'Set the prompt so there is a directory prompt in front”
I don't understand what that means. If it means there is a directory before the >, you can use CD\ to remove the directory.

If you delete the two files “Io.sys” and “Msdos.sys”, then forget about booting the system again!
